Why Abounding Love Exists
Abounding Love Birth Services began with a simple observation.
Families needed greater access to credible, compassionate doulas they could trust. At the same time, doulas entering the birth space needed mentorship, training, connection, and community.
Abounding Love was created to help bridge both gaps.
Today, our vision extends beyond individual birth support. We're building a community where families can access compassionate care and birth professionals can develop, collaborate, and strengthen the work they provide.
Our Mission
Abounding Love Birth Services exists to provide culturally responsive, compassionate, and evidence-based birth and family support through professional doula care, education, and advocacy.
Our mission is to improve maternal and infant outcomes by centering dignity, informed choice, and holistic wellness, serving families from preconception through postpartum while empowering communities most impacted by birth inequities.

Kayla Lloyd
Founder & Chief Executive Officer | Abounding Love Birth Services Agency
Kayla Lloyd is a maternal health leader, educator, curriculum developer, consultant, and experienced doula dedicated to advancing compassionate, equitable, and culturally responsive maternal care. As the Founder and CEO of Abounding Love Birth Services Agency, she brings together her expertise in community-based birth support, professional education, workforce development, and organizational leadership to create meaningful change for families and birth professionals.
Through her work with Rutgers University and the New Jersey Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority (NJMIHIA), Kayla has contributed to the development and delivery of maternal health education and professional doula training initiatives across New Jersey. Her passion extends beyond direct birth support to building sustainable systems, strengthening the maternal health workforce, and creating opportunities for collaboration between doulas, healthcare organizations, and the communities they serve.
Guided by a vision of excellence, empowerment, and love, Kayla leads Abounding Love with a commitment to ensuring families receive quality support while equipping birth professionals with the education, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Lauren Cooper
Director of Operations | Abounding Love Birth Services Agency
Lauren Cooper serves as the Director of Operations for Abounding Love Birth Services Agency, bringing a strong passion for maternal health, family-centered care, and organizational excellence. As a birth doula, Certified Lactation Support Counselor, and mother of three, she combines professional knowledge with personal experience to support the agency's mission of providing compassionate, high-quality maternal care.
In her leadership role, Lauren helps oversee daily operations, strengthen organizational systems, and support the agency's team of doulas to ensure families receive consistent, respectful, and personalized care. Her commitment to collaboration, accountability, and excellence helps create a strong foundation for both the doulas serving families and the communities Abounding Love is dedicated to supporting.
Shameka Armstrong
Director of Finance | Abounding Love Birth Services Agency
Shameka Armstrong is an accomplished financial professional, entrepreneur, and educator with an MBA and more than a decade of experience in business administration, financial management, and strategic planning. Her expertise in budgeting, bookkeeping, financial education, and business development brings valuable insight to the financial leadership of Abounding Love Birth Services Agency.
As Director of Finance, Shameka provides financial oversight and strategic guidance to support the agency's operational stability, responsible growth, and long-term sustainability. She is committed to promoting financial accountability, strengthening organizational systems, and ensuring that financial resources align with the agency's mission. Through her leadership, Shameka helps build a strong financial foundation that allows Abounding Love to expand opportunities for birth professionals while continuing to provide exceptional care to families and communities.
Xiomara Gittens
Assistant Director of Professional Development | Abounding Love Birth Services Agency
Xiomara Gittens is a dedicated birth professional, certified full-spectrum doula, Reiki Master, and placenta specialist who brings a holistic, culturally responsive approach to maternal health and professional development. Her experience in birth support, wellness, and education reflects her commitment to empowering families and strengthening the birth workforce.
As Assistant Director of Professional Development at Abounding Love Birth Services Agency, Xiomara supports the growth, mentorship, and continued education of the agency's doulas. She is committed to fostering a collaborative learning environment where birth professionals can strengthen their skills, build confidence, and provide compassionate, individualized care. Through her leadership, Xiomara helps cultivate a team of knowledgeable, supported, and empowered doulas dedicated to serving families with excellence.
Brittney Love
Administrative assistant | Abounding Love Birth Services Agency
As our administrative assistant, with 13 years of healthcare experience, from critical care to labor support, she brings both professional knowledge and a personal understanding of the birth journey to her work as a doula and administrator.
As a mother of two, her own birth experiences have deepened her passion for supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. She has a heart for women and a strong commitment to ensuring they feel seen, heard, empowered, and supported. In the administrative role, she is passionate about helping create a compassionate, organized, and supportive experience for both our families and our doula team.
